FR JAMES CELEBRATE 22 YEARS OF PRIESTLY ANNIVERSARY
AND APPEALS FOR MISSION SUPPORT FOR SMA SCHOOL PROJECT IN GHANA- WEST AFRICA

I am Fr James Owusu-Yeboah, an SMA Missionary from Ghana. I belong to the Society of African Missions (SMA), an International Missionary Congregation founded in France since 1856; to evangelize Africa and people of African descent, to work among the poor, the abandoned, to encourage local Clergy Formation, the formation of Catechists, establishing Churches and Schools for the less privileged in the Society as well as rendering Services to Churches in Pastoral Needs.

I was ordained on this blessed day, 17th of July 1999, 22 years ago, to the SMA to share its Mission and aspirations. I hope sharing my Missionary experience in Africa in all the Masses in our Parishes on the above dates and solicit for Funds to support the SMA School and Church Project started by my humble-self two years ago through the support of the LaSalle Parishes. The projects are situated at the outskirt of Accra-Ghana, West Africa; designed to alleviate the plight of the under-Privileged Children in the area, the physically challenged Children, the African Refugee Children living at the Outskirt village of Accra, as well as Street Children in the City.

The SMA works in all the Continents in the World except Australia.  The Ghana Mission has about 26 SMA Priests and Two Lay Missionaries from 12 different Countries across the Globe; United States of America, Ireland, Holland, France, Philippines, Cote D’Ivoire, Ghana, Togo, Benin, Liberia, Central African Republic and Congo. Each working to fulfil the mandate of Christ; to reach out to the most abandoned and the less privileged in the society.

I am humbly appealing to all Parishioners to be generous and assist SMA accomplish its noble mission to advance the school and the Church projects which will take care of the Catholic Faithful in the Area, the poor village children who walk about 3 to 4 miles to attend school, the physically challenged Children as well as the Street Children of Accra. The school will help educate the disadvantaged children of the village and make them fruitful and productive to the society and avoid street begging, youth delinquency and future adult promiscuity.

Thanks in advance and God Bless all.
